Angie

And angel she was not! That is where her registered name came from. I thought about French-Vanila's Devil's Child or Daughter of Lucifer. but elected to go the other route so not to scare little kids at the show :) I could just hear them over the loud speaker- Lucifer's Daughter report to ring 3, you are wanted in Open Bitches

Angie came into this world with a SCREAM and she NEVER stopped complaining as long as I had her. But Baby Girl Peach was a star from day one! And she KNEW it

Angie was out of our much covetted Canada breed Can Ch.Lindenhall’s McIlwain Protégé (Mac) and our girl French-Vanila's My Fancy Vanila Wafer.

Born August 29 1999 One of 11 and 8th born of the 6 girls Peach Ribbon made her entrance into the world. Here is the part of the litter Log for her birth

# 8. Baby Girl Peach
Born: 12:13AM
Weight 15oz
Details: breach no trouble, slipped right out screaming and is my
screamer still this bitch complains and complains. Nurses well.

See told you from the start this girl earned her name!

Angie was a thick short heavy little pup a Perfect example of what we call an English type Lab short of leg big of butt! And a beautiful show prospect.

From first time I had her on the table I knew as much as I hated and went head to head with that little Alpha bitch and so loved her sister Rose who was mellow and so much like her half sister Punky. I LOVED Rose! And will share her story and her poem on her page.

BUT remembered that breeder head in favor of a mom's heart I had talked about keeping? I could not keep another pup like Punky just because I loved her more, as unlike Punky who was just small and sickly, but not a bad looking girl- Rose was not up to conformation standards. I could see it even at an early age. But when I decided at 12 weeks it was between Angie and Baby Girl Lavender. Rose was not even in the mix :(

So my breeder head won out and Angie was pick.

Angie at 5 weeks

8 weeks look at that fat little girl!

Angie thinks she is something special, a trait you want in a show dog

Angie's 10 weeks now

And starting to learn to move- she is soo solid even this young

At 12 weeks she is fully Alpha Trained and will not move off the table even if you walk away she is safe there she will wait to be groomed relaxed unafraid just chilling waiting for me to return. All my dogs are Alpha Trained right up to Sadie

Angie's first Christmas she is a few days short of 4 months old

Angie turns 6 months after having her to a handler at 4 1/2 months, and a large show to get her comfortable though she had already won two puppy matches that was her first real show. Then the handler taking her at 6 months.

Her brother ran into her playing and broadsided her and body slammed her and sent her flying shortly after she returned! She was limping an xray showed no break, but she had strained her knee badly. Crate rest for two then four weeks then nearly 5 months of off and on crate time hoping not to need surgery- as we prayed she would heal and not have a permanent limp. And we could not show her at all.

It took a long time to heal and we did prelim OFAs to see how she was progressing and at 1 she was OFA Good and we thought we dodged a bullet we were later to find not so. But because of the injury she was not shown again because when she could she was injured and then she had a surprise litter after a silent first heat we never saw but only noticed she was pregnant. So the two points she got when she went to Canada to show at 6 months with the handler were it for her.

More on that later.

And then it was get all the dogs off with co/owners and new families that following May after her litter in Oct.

Such a beautiful girl loved to have her picture taken

Angie in Canada

Angie with her half sister Punky in their favorite place under the desk. You can see Angie is heavy with pups. She would have 6 three and three.

Even though she was so young and such a baby to have a first litter she was a great mom. Way to go Pudge!

Her daughter French-Vanila’s Daisy Mae OFAs Good No PRA and

Mac CanCh Loneoaks On Wings As Eagles OFAs Excellent No PRA Heart sound

Had a litter of 6 as well in that litter they had Gunner- later to be French-Vanila's Gunnen for Bear MH CD WC

He did not turn out too bad for a dam from a brother sister breeding as Angie's Brother Joey was the only male who was with her so he had to be the one that fathered her litter now we could DNA then we just took our best guess if an unplanned breeding took place. But we never saw a breeding never saw a heat we called it our immaculate conception and that got us Daisy who produced Gunner

After Angie's litter was placed out was when I had to start finding places for the dogs I chose a show breeder in Ohio as I wanted her to finish her title and maybe be able to get her blood into my other line later down the road. But even though people who had the breeder's pups and other known breeders recommended her, it turned out to be a mistake in choosing her. She never showed Angie coming up with excuses left and right. She never paid her co/own fee and she wanted to dump my girl anywhere when she met someone married and he did not want the dogs.

Kristi at Lakeview who is also in Ohio  had them bring Angie to her. She was in poor condition and Kristi said the people were appalling I told her of the glowing recommendations on the breeder. But they mattered not at that point. We just had to get Angie back into shape and health and see where we were at then.

Kristi bless her heart took it all on, as I was in Oregon. She got her back into health and had her xrayed as the breeder had not done her finial OFAs. And that knee I told you about came back to haunt us her knee was bad and her hip on that side was also only fair the vet said because of the knee no doubt (and who knows what kind of strain that breeder put her though). But that was it she was done no showing no more puppies- pet home. So Kristi set up a spay for me and took her in. Then when she called me she was so mad I will omit language that that breeder had dropped off a pregnant Angie and told NO one. By the time they got in there to spay the one little bitch puppy was too young to survive they tried to save her but she died. One more causality to that decision.

But Angie once spayed put on weight fast and got back to her wiggle butt self at Lakeview. Remember I said she was big butt heavy she would spin her tail in a circle and if she could she would take off like a helicopter except for that heavy backend.

Another thing she would do was hold your arm and wiggle with it in her mouth to let you know she needed to potty.

But now we were looking for a forever home to love and take care of her better than she had, had to endure because of my bad choice.

Kristi ran people by me and we found a family who had no kids but a pond and they adopted her and still have her to this day they have written and sent picture and she is so spoiled and happy with them.

And I hear from them her registered name does not apply that they say she is their little angel. So who knows maybe she has come full circle all I care about is she is loved and cared for and I do not have to worry about her for the rest of her life. Thanks Kristi could not have done it or gotten through it without you.

My girl is happy and my girl is loved and that is all a breeder can ask for her kids.
